Quality knife, delivery took a bit

I finally decided to upgrade my old chef's knife and went with the Damascus Steel Chef Knife from Kyoku. The knife itself is fantastic; it's got a great weight and cuts through everything so smoothly. It feels like it will last a long time. The packaging was good too. My only minor gripe was the shipping time. It said 3-5 business days, but it took a full week to get to my place in California. Not a huge deal, but something they could tighten up. Customer service was responsive when I emailed about the delay though. Overall, a good experience, just plan for a slightly longer wait on shipping.

Quick shipping, sharp knife

Bought a Gyonin Series Paring Knife. It arrived fast, like 3 days. Knife is sharp. No issues with the order. Happy with it.

Good value on a Santoku

I was looking for a new Santoku Knife and saw Kyoku Knives had a pretty good sale going. I signed up for their newsletter and got an extra 10% off, which was nice. With free shipping over $99, the total cost for the Santoku and a small Honing Steel was a solid deal. It felt worth the money I spent. Happy with the sharpness and how it handles.

Great knife, smooth experience

I ordered the Shogun Series 8-inch Chef Knife last month and received it pretty quickly, took about 4 days to reach upstate NY. The ordering process on their site was straightforward, no hiccups at all. Unboxing the knife, the quality felt really premium. It's well-balanced and incredibly sharp right out of the box, made slicing vegetables a breeze. I had a quick question about care, so I used their online chat support, and they responded within minutes with helpful tips. Overall, I'm very satisfied with both the product and the service, definitely a good purchase for my kitchen.

My new favorite kitchen tool!

I just got the Nakiri Vegetable Knife and it's amazing! Seriously, chopping veggies has never been this easy or fun. The blade is super sharp and glides right through everything. I can't believe I waited so long to get one. This knife is a total game changer for my cooking! I'm already planning my next purchase from them.

Hey, I'm looking at getting one of the chef knives, maybe the Shogun series. Does anyone know if they ship to like, Montana, and how long it usually takes?

M Mike Z. 2 months ago
Yeah, they ship all over the US. I ordered a paring knife last month and it got to me in Colorado in about 5 days, so Montana shouldn't be an issue.

Mine took like a week to get to the East Coast, so I'd say plan for 5-7 business days probably. Might be faster if you're closer to a major hub.

Anyone know how Kyoku knives stack up against, say, a Shun? Looking for a new chef knife and debating between a few brands.

P Priya 2 months ago
I've got both a Kyoku and a Shun. Kyoku holds its own for sure, especially for the price point. Edge retention is great. Shun might feel a bit more refined in hand for some, but Kyoku is a solid workhorse.

Kyoku is often compared favorably. It's a really good value. You're getting similar quality steel and sharpness without quite the premium price tag of a Shun, if that makes sense.

I'm a new customer, does Kyoku Knives have some kind of first order discount? Like a newsletter sign-up thing?

K Kevin Foster 1 month ago
Yep! Usually, if you sign up for their email list, they send you a code for 10% off your first order. That's how I got mine.

Check their homepage, there's usually a pop-up or a banner for a first-time discount if you enter your email.

Does Kyoku ever do sales, like for holidays? Or is it mostly just the first-time buyer discount?

N Nina Z. 1 month ago
Oh yeah, they definitely do. I picked up my Santoku during a Black Friday sale for a good chunk off. Keep an eye out for those big holiday weekends.

They'll have sales for things like Christmas, Father's Day, etc. Sometimes even just random seasonal stuff. Sign up for their email, that's how I usually hear about them.

Thinking of pulling the trigger on a Daimyo Kiritsuke. What's the return policy like if it's not quite what I expected? Easy process or a hassle?

S Sam A. 2 months ago
Returns were super easy for me. Got a cleaver, decided I wanted a different one, sent it back and got my refund pretty quick.

I think as long as it's unused and within their return window, you're good. Check their site for the exact days, but it's not a pain.
